Highest score at every batting position in ODI:

Let’s start. So friends, let’s start with the openers. The two batsmen who have scored the most runs while opening are New Zealand’s Martin Guptill and India’s Rohit Sharma. Martin Guptill, while batting at the number one position, in a 2015 ODI (21/03/2015) World Cup against the West Indies, played an innings of 227 runs in 163 balls, at the Sky Stadium (Wellington).

And Rohit Sharma, batting at the number 2 position in 2014 (13/11/2014) against Sri Lanka at India’s Eden Gardens Stadium (Kolkata), played an innings of 264 runs in 173 balls, which till now is the highest score made by any batsman in ODI cricket.

The player to make the highest individual score batting at 1st down or number 3 position is CK Coventry of Zimbabwe. In 2009 (16/08/2009), against Bangladesh at Zimbabwe’s Queens Sports Club ground, he played a not-out innings of 194 runs in 156 balls.

■2ND DOWN:

And then, the player to score the highest individual score while batting at number four is West Indies’ Viv Richards. He played an unbeaten innings of 189 runs off 170 balls against England at England’s Old Trafford Stadium on 31/05/1984.

And then, the player to score the highest individual score while batting at number five is South Africa’s Heinrich Klaasen. He played an innings of 174 runs off 83 balls against Australia at Australia’s Centurion Stadium on 15/09/2023.

And then, the player to score the highest individual score while batting at number six is Australia’s Glenn Maxwell. He played an unbeaten innings of 201* runs off 128 balls against Afghanistan at India’s Wankhede Stadium during the 2023 ODI World Cup on 07/11/2023 and single-handedly took Australia to the finals.

And then, the player with the highest individual score batting at number 7 is New Zealand’s Luke Ronchi. He played an unbeaten (not out) innings of 170 runs off 99 balls against Sri Lanka in 2015 (23/01/2015) at New Zealand’s University Oval cricket stadium.

■6TH DOWN:

And then, the player with the highest individual score batting at number 8 is Bangladesh’s Mehedi Hasan Miraz. He played an unbeaten (not out) innings of 100 runs off 83 balls against India in 2022 (07/12/2022) at Bangladesh’s Shere Bangla National Stadium.

And then, the player with the highest individual score batting at number 9 is West Indies’ Andre Russell. He played an unbeaten (not out) innings of 92 runs off 64 balls against India in 2011 (11/06/2011) at West Indies’ Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

■8TH DOWN:

And then batting at number 10, the player to score the highest individual score is Ravi Rampaul of the West Indies. He had played an innings of 86 runs not out off 66 balls against India in 2011, at India’s Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Cricket Stadium.

And then batting at number 11, the player to score the highest individual score is Mohammad Amir of Pakistan. He had played an innings of 58 runs off 28 balls against England in 2016 (30/08/2016), at England’s Trent Bridge Stadium.”
